Back To School

Erin Whyte RMT

As I write this, the fall equinox has only just arrived and yet the weather would tell you much differently. It may be back to school time but it is NOT time to be scraping frost off my windshield!

It is a reminder that Christmas is coming (yes…I said the “ch” word!) and to book the last of your appointments before the year end. To do that you can use our new online booking system- please see the information below for a smoother transition.

And finally, I have posted a new article on my website about the Science of Touch, a few studies that support massage and the power of touch.

Back to school for me too!

My news is that I have decided to go back to school and am taking part time courses to complete my Bachelor of Arts with Specialization in Human Relations and Spirituality. This will hopefully lead to a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Now before you ask what that means for you, let me tell you; at the present time, nothing. My schedule remains relatively unchanged from now until next September. You can see my hours of availability below and here I will keep you well informed of any changes to my schedule. I have no inclination of leaving the massage therapy profession any time soon. I love what I do and I hope to continue it for many years to come.

Using your health benefits

December is coming and so are the end of your extended health benefits! This is a gentle reminder to consider spacing out the remainder of your massages over the next three months as I often cannot accommodate your requests with only a few weeks of the year left. Evenings are already filling up quickly so book now to avoid disappointment and take some time for yourself before we ALL get busy.

Some “clinic keeping”

Kneaded Touch changed providers for the online booking system. And as with any change, there have been a few hiccups along the way, so I’d like to offer some pointers for an easier transition.

  1. Logging in for the first time– Please note that you are considered NEW TO THE SITE. Your old username and password were for another system altogether and will not work. Enter your name and the new system should ‘find’ you; confirm your account with some personal information and add to your profile any missing information. We still have confirmation and email reminders so please make sure your email address is up to date.

  2. Finding Erin– This system hosts all 3 locations of Kneaded Touch so whenever you do a search or are asked specific parameters about your appointment, please make sure you have Kneaded Touch –Westboro selected and me, Erin Whyte selected under the Therapist menu.

  3. Calendar view– On the first couple of pages you click through there is a ‘button’ on the top-right corner of the screen that says Browse Appointment Schedule. Again, scan across the top to choose the location and therapist and day or week to view my schedule.

  4. Length of appointment– The program automatically build in a 15 minute break at the end of your appointment. This can be both confusing and frustrating when it looks like the perfect amount of time is available to you (say, an hour) but when you try to book it, it tells you otherwise (45 mins or 30 mins are displayed). You may want to try being more open in your time to see if an appointment 15 mins earlier is available or opt to come in for 45 mins if that is all that I can offer that day.

  5. If all else fails!– Please email me at if you have any issues with the system. I may not be able to help directly with the IT problem (not my forte!) but we can schedule something in that moment with a few messages back and forth. Emailing me is always an option as is leaving a message at Kneaded Touch, 613-725-0988.

Enjoy the fall and see you soon!

Be well,

Erin Whyte, RMT
