Safe Hands Massage

Safe Hands is designed to work with people who desire to change their relationship with touch, learn to connect with their body, or who require therapeutic massage treatment but need a very safe context for that to occur in.  Individuals who may benefit from this trauma-informed approach to massage therapy are those who have experienced sexual or physical abuse, intimate partner violence, or that find themselves vulnerable when it comes to touch.

The primary focus is to create safety and boundaries, establish and build trust, and ensure consent so you feel empowered in your own body.  The massage component is mindfully negotiated between yourself and your therapist so you can experience ease and comfort knowing you are in safe hands.  Here is what that can look like:

  • • Choice in your level of undress or position on table
  • • Clarity on how your treatment will proceed
  • • Certainty that your input is valued and respected
